Electricity is provided within the county by both Georgia Power Company and Tri-County Electric Membership Corporation.  Normally service in the city is considered to be provided by Georgia Power and county service by Tri-County EMC; however, areas are assigned and may vary within an area.  Check with the individual companies to determine the service provider for your specific location.

Water

City of Gray Water Department

General Information:  Water service for residents living within the city limits is provided by the City of Gray.  A water deposit is required.

 

 

Jones County Water Department

Hours:  Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
(Closed from 11:30 – Noon for lunch)
General Information:  A water deposit is required.  There is also a charge for a new meter.  Please note that county water service is available only in specified areas. 

 

Gas

Natural gas may be purchased from the following sources: 

Eatonton Natural Gas, P.O. Box 3820, Eatonton, GA 31024.   

A deposit is required and there is generally a one-day notice for service.  The company is located at 201 N. Jefferson Ave., Eatonton. For information call (706) 485-3311 for inside the city of Gray service. 

Monticello Natural Gas, P.O. Box 269, Monticello, GA 31064. 

A deposit is required and there is generally a one-day notice for service.  The company is located at 123 W. Washington St. in Monticello.  Call (706) 468-8834 for outside the city service.

Recycling

The Gray/Jones County Recycling Center is located on Industrial Boulevard in Gray.  This is a 24-hour drop-off for recyclables only.  County dumpsters are provided at locations throughout the County for household garbage.  Within the County, there are six Convenience Centers that accept both trash and recyclables.

Clinton St.  They are open to the public on Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Saturday from 9-11 a.m.  The office may be reached at 1-800-ASK USPS or locally at (478) 986-4085. The Haddock zip code is 31033.  The Haddock Post Office is located at 1355 Ga. Highway 22 East in downtown Haddock.  They are open to the public on Monday – Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 to 5:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  This office may be reached at 1-800-ASK USPS or locally at (478) 932-5790.

Sewage & Garbage

City of Gray – Sewer connection service is provided through the City of Gray.  There is a fee for connection and an inspection fee.  Garbage collection is provided through a cooperative arrangement with Advanced Disposal with a collection fee charged.  “White Goods Pickup” is provided by the City as a service for disposing of old furniture and appliances.  Yard pickup is every third Saturday. Call City Hall for the next scheduled pickup.   Contact the business office at  (478) 986-2201. 

 

Jones County – Advanced Disposal Services, Southland Waste Systems of Georgia, and Clean Rite Sanitation also provide some residential garbage pickup within the more populated areas of the county. Weekly service is provided with the company furnishing a 95-gallon cart for curbside pickup. Billing is done quarterly. You can contact Advanced Disposal at (478) 405-5000 or Southland at (478) 746-7230 or Clean Rite at (478) 994-4233. Advanced Disposal and Southland provide commercial waste collection, also.
